Four years you think for sure
That’s all you've got to endure
All the total dicks
All the stuck up chicks
So superficial, so immature
Then when you GrAdUaTe
You take a look around and you say HEY WAIT!
This is the .s a m e. as where I just came from
I thought it was over
Aw that’s just great...

Waiting for time to pass (Nathan Baker)
« Thread Started on Jun 12, 2007, 8:42pm »

Dathan had gotten to school earlier than he had anticipated, which to him wasn't really a bad thing. It gave him a few minutes of quiet before he had to brave the halls of the high school.. As he entered the courtyard he gave the school a sort of evil glance as he took a sip of coffee out of his paper cup that he had brought along with him. He was always drinking coffee, he wouldn't make it a single day without getting caffed up in the mornings.

Sighing as he realized that in a short time he would be surrounded by loud chaotic kids, Dathan sat himself down on a bench in the middle of the courtyard. He let his books sit on the bench to the side of him as he glanced over at them. His algebra had given him a bit of trouble, but as always he flew through his history.. None the less he was pretty confident in most of his subjects. He had always gotten good grades and he was rather proud of them.

Looking up from his books he looked out around the courtyard again and saw that a few other people had gotten there early as well. He gave an occasional nod but kept his solemn face as he took another drink of his coffee and watched the ground mostly as he waited for the time to slip past him.

Pale blue eyes scanned the courtyard, looking for any sign of the familliar red head that was the girl friend of Nathan Baker, but alas, the young man saw nothing. Well nothing would be an understatement, however, he saw nothing of interest to him.

A few kids had gotten to school early, one of which seemed to be a guy with what looked like coffee. Nathan had never acquired a taste for the stuff, and couldnt understand how anyone could drink it at all.

Sighing slightly, he plopped himself down on a bench, running a hand over his slightly messy hair. Why he was here so early, was beyond reasoning. He just knew that he didnt want to be home.

After a moment of sitting in silence the ground became boring and Dathan decided on people watching instead. He let his dark brown eyes land on a couple of people as they huddled together and chattered away about one thing or another. Then his eyes landed on a boy who was doing the same as he was. Or at least he was sitting by himself and not making a lot of noise. Dathan always had respect for people who could sit and keep their mouths shut for even short periods of time. Then again he didn't really like the whole small talk game either.

Taking another drink, he let his eyes move around again but his mind began to wonder slightly. Since he had arrived in Allen County he hadn't really talked to anyone except his mom. And his dogs of course but then again they didn't really count seems how they cant really socialize very well. Mostly the reason that Dathan liked them so much. He wondered what the people around here where like. The last time he tried to socialize after moving it didn't go so well.

Sighing he decided against getting up and talking to anyone. He hated to be on the spot and that of course would put the attention on him. In fact he let his nerves get the best of him when he talked to his friends back home so making new ones certainly wasn't going to be a picnic for him.

Looking to his watch, Nathan gave a small sigh. The bell wouldnt even ring to start the day for another fifteen minutes. He then made a mental note to himself that if he ever needed out of the house that early that he would go for a walk, and not trap himself with in the confines of the school.

Shaking his head slightly, he looked back up to the guy with the coffee, he nodded slightly, but made no effort beyond that to get his attention or to strike up a conversation.
