A grin came across Jeri's lips as she saw Ryan entering the room again and she reached her hand out for his when he sat the flowers down on the table alongside the teddy bear. "Aww, thanks hon. And I am sure that RJ will love his bear." She chuckled a little before hearing her grandmother coming back in the room and announcing that she could go and see RJ but just for a minute. Jeri's eyes lit up and she looked over at Ryan. "You wanna go with me?"

He gave her hand a little squeeze. "Well you are very welcome." As her grandmother entered the room, he felt a feeling of excitment pass over him, he was gald she could go see the baby, though her question caught him slightly off gaurd. He arched an eyebrow slightly. "Sure...I mean, will they let me go too?"

Jerica smiled and then nodded to his question. "They will or else they will have a very ticked off mom on their hands." She laughed a little and then saw that two nurses had came in, one with a wheelchair. Jeri didn't really like that idea but she allowed herself to be transfered into it none the less. "Can Ryan come with me?" She asked as she looked up at one of the nurses who nodded a yes and motioned for Ryan to follow them as Jerica was wheeled into the NICU where RJ was held at the moment and given the proper coverings to make sure that the babies didn't catch any germs.
Seeing the tiny baby laying there Jeri was a little unsettled but she soon got over it when she was sat next to the baby and she reached out and held his tiny hand. "Hi there RJ... Welcome to the world bud." She let her finger stroke his hand as she looked at the baby.

Ryan cringed a little at the sight of the wheel chair, though he knew it was just a safety precaution that hospitals used to keep from getting sued when someone fell. But he hated hospitals, that last time he had been in one was to see his grandmother a week before she died, that was enough to not make him want to return to one anytime soon. He followed the nurses, feeling slightly nervous. What the hell do you have to be nervous about Though he knew in the back of his mind that things would be different from then on.
As they entered, Ryan looked over Jerica's shoulder at the tiny baby. It marvelled him that a person could start out in life so tiny, and grow up to be over six feet tall. One of life's little things, that often amazed him. He smiled. "wow...he is so little"

Jerica stayed quiet as she held the babies hand and then heard Ryan behind her and nodded. "Hes perfect." Her eyes teared up slightly as she looked around at all the different monitors that where hooked up to the baby to make sure that everything was okay because they just looked so damn scary. She sighed and let her eyes fall on the face of the baby again. Reaching behind her with her free hand she found Ryan's hand and held it tightly.

Ryan didnt like the look of all the moniters and machines, but he knew that they were what gave babies in this condition the best care available to insure that they would remain healthy. Though he still couldt help but feel uneasy, damn hospitals. He gave her hand a little squeeze, and leaned down kissing the top of her head. " Hey, its ok."

Jerica's eyes moved over the baby for a moment before she looked over at Ryan and smiled. "I know." She looked back over at RJ and let go of his hand for a moment as she moved out of the way slightly. "You wanna introduce yourself.. You haven't really got to yet." She smiled lightly as she still kept her eye on the baby.

Stepping forward, Ryan couldnt help but feel a little nervous, why he didnt know. It wasnt like a baby was going to judge him let alone even understand what he was saying. He swallowed hard, and cleared his throat a little, looking down at the tiny baby. Ryan wasnt even sure he had ever even seen a baby this small. He gently reached his hand out, softly letting a finger tip barely graze the baby's tiny hand. "Hey there little guy...Im Ryan"

Jerica smiled as she watched Ryan and she let her hand rub his back softly seeing how nervous he was. "This guy is gonna teach you all that manly stuff that will get you through life.." Jeri let her eyes move away from the baby and Ryan for the first time as she looked over at the nurse who was checking all the monitors for a moment then letting her eyes move back to the two.

Ryan couldnt help but chuckle at her statement. Relaxing slightly as he felt her hand on his back. "Yeah all those important things in life, like how to make sure you are rooting for the right football team, and to always remember to make sure you put the toilet seat back down. Those two things are important." He let his eyes glance to the nurse, then return back to the small child before him.

Jerica chuckled and then nodded. "He knows what team to pull for... That would be Georgia Tech." She grinned and let her finger graze the babies foot for a second before she looked up at Ryan and smiled softly. "Thanks for being here for me Ryan. I wouldn't have made it without you."

Ryan placed his hand on her shoulder, giving it a slight squeeze. "Im always here for you. you should know that by now. I love you." He smiled as he watched her with the baby, it really was the simple things in life that were the best, and this simply was proof enough of that for him.
